Katy is a city on the west side of Houston Texas. Historically Katy was founded by a group of families who started rice farming in the area. Katy, TX was incorporated in 1945. Present day Katy, Texas has several master planned communities that are beautiful and complete with swimming pools, tennis courts and plenty of greenspace for walking and recreation. Katy is also home to some of the states top rated schools from elementary to high school and is also an excellent place for businesses ranging from small to large. What makes Katy, TX special is that you can have the close-knit small-town community feel with the convenience and access to the big city. Katy borders Houston on the west side, you can easily get into town and enjoy all that the big city has to offer, but head home to your quiet suburban home in one of the lovely communities here.

You can stroll along the bayou’s and watch for gators or play a round of tennis at one of the community tennis courts. There are also many lovely pools within each community. Cinco Ranch, one of those master planned communities features 11 swimming pools to choose from. Alternatively, since the greater Houston area is close to the Gulf Coast, you can take the 90-minute drive and visit the sleep beach towns of Galveston or even Surfside Beach. Enjoying a fun filled day along the coast is just what the doctor ordered!

Houston is a mecca for delicious food. You can find anything from southern soul food, to seafood, delicious burgers and we can’t forget our infamous Tex-Mex. There is a little something for everyone! Here are a few of our local spots in Katy, TX. For Tex-Mex Las Mañanitas is incredible, not a well-known hot spot, but the food is outstanding. We highly recommend the shrimp enchiladas here. Baker’s Street Pub is not your typical Texas fare, here they offer the ambience of an Irish pub. Complete with Fish N Chips, Bangers and Mash. Baker’s Street also offers weekly karaoke nights and live music several nights a month, a great stop at the local shopping center called La Centerra.

Katy Texas is a great location for families and is close enough to Houston that you can come and stay in Katy, with easy access to Houston venues and a short jaunt to the coast.
